Qualified programs alone do not provide adequate incentive compensation and retirement benefits for executives
SERPs (Supplemental Executive Retirement Plan) are designed to provide future compensation for selected senior employees. SERPs do not have to be made available to the entire workforce on a nondiscriminatory basis.
